My Story, In Full
Extended Bio
I am Asanda Wiseman Kupe — a South African peacemaker, social impact leader, creative entrepreneur, and community development practitioner. Born and raised in the township communities of South Africa, my life and work have been shaped by a deep commitment to human dignity, justice, reconciliation, leadership development, and sustainable community transformation.
Though formally trained in Human Resource Management, my greatest education has come through years of practical work in communities, churches, development organisations, and creative spaces — serving as a project coordinator, community practitioner, mentor, life coach, facilitator, speaker, consultant, music director, creative producer, performer, and faith leader.
Over more than 15 years, I have founded and led several organisations. ArtWorks South Africa uses the arts to develop young leaders and strengthen communities across Cape Town. LeKasi Productions brings world-class events and storytelling to local and international audiences, while LeKasi Records supports emerging African artists with development, production, and sustainable creative career pathways.
I have served as Project Coordinator of the MAMA Project, empowering mothers and women in under-resourced communities through skills development, mentorship, and advocacy, and I have led work with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), mobilising young people globally for training, community service, and cross-cultural international reconciliation work.
As a speaker, facilitator, and MC, I have stood on stages that matter — from corporate boardrooms to community halls, from national conferences to international summits — always with the conviction that every person carries inherent worth. My work spans keynote speaking, facilitation, consulting, and strategic partnership development across the public, private, and NGO sectors, reaching more than 20 countries.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple but profound calling: to be a peacemaker who helps individuals and communities flourish — fostering leadership, nurturing creativity, preserving culture, advancing reconciliation, and creating pathways toward sustainable development and economic opportunity.
I believe in a world where people, communities, and cultures thrive in dignity, peace, creativity, and purpose — where every human being has the opportunity to live a meaningful and flourishing life. That belief continues to guide every partnership, project, and conversation I take part in.
